Photographs allow us to keep hold of moments and save memories of people who are no longer with us. This collection of photographs represents a very personal and ongoing project about my grandparents. I have never lived close to any family so my yearly visits to see my grandparents were an important part of my youth. I started photographing these visits after I became interested in photography and have continued ever since. My grandfather passed away in January of 2013 at the age of  91. I missed the opportunity to say a final goodbye and so my photographs became my last connection to him. I continue to focus my lens on my grandmother and her wonderful smile in the apartment they shared for over 65 years.
